Supporting Learners with ADHD
It is estimated that 2-5% of school aged children have ADHD, so if you are a teaching today it is very likely you will have a child with ADHD in your class! ADHD is a very misunderstood condition. Children and teenagers with ADHD are often labelled as challenging and disruptive, with many leaners with the condition failing to meet their potential in the education system. This is a course that Laura Kerbey is passionate about delivering, being both a parent to a child with ADHD and an adult with ADHD herself. This course will help delegates understand the condition better, see the positives in ADHD and equip them with an invaluable toolkit of ADHD support strategies for the classroom. It is suitable for all staff who work in primary and secondary schools and colleges.
The Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows:
1) Understand what ADHD is
2) Understand the impact that ADHD has on learners
3) Understand the barriers to learning that ADHD can cause
4) Recognise effective strategies to support learners with ADHD
