Liza Chinery
Specialist Teacher BA(Hons), PGCE, Diploma in special needs and communication
Liza Chinery has worked with children, young people and adults with a wide range of special needs and disabilities for over 25 years and is dedicated to optimising children’s learning.
Liza has been a specialist teacher for 20 years working in special needs schools and colleges. She has also worked in mainstream schools where she supported and advised teachers how best to meet the needs of autistic children.
Liza has delivered training to primary and secondary schools specifically on Autism and PDA. Liza has also delivered training to local businesses wishing to understand how to be more inclusive and have a greater understanding of special needs and disabilities.
Liza worked with the University of Sussex with Dr Jacqui Shepherd (Autism specialist) as part of a transition project to develop and improve the transition of year 6 autistic students to secondary school. She also runs her own business “Golddust Education” offering creative and individualised 1:1 tutoring for Autistic children and young people.
Liza has a 15 year old son who has a diagnosis of Autism with a PDA profile and ADHD. She regularly supports and advises parents of children with additional needs.
